Subway
Baltimore’s Metro Subway operates from Owings Mills, through downtown Baltimore, to the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Daily service is provided from 14 stations and operates every eight minutes during rush hour, every 10 minutes during the day, and every 10 to 20 minutes on evenings and weekends. Above ground railway, which operates every day in nine-minute to 17-minute intervals, with 33 stops from Hunt Valley, through downtown Baltimore, and south to Glen Burnie. Maryland Laws
The state speed limit on interstate highways is 65 mph unless otherwise noted. All passengers are required to use safety belts.
- Approved child-safety seats are required for children under the age of six, or weighing less than 40 pounds.
- Driving lights should be on whenever your windshield wipers are engaged.
- Motorcyclists are required to wear helmets.
- The Maryland State Police monitor CB Channel 9. Motorists traveling with cellular phones may report disabled vehicles or accidents by dialing #77.

Bottled Propane Restrictions
In the Baltimore Harbor (I-895) and Fort McHenry (I-95) tunnels, the following bottled-propane restrictions apply:
- Must be 10-pound (or less) containers
- Maximum of 10 containers per vehicle
- An alternative route is the Francis Scott Key Bridge (I-695) — there are no propane restrictions on Maryland’s bridges.
Bus Service
The MTA operates 70 Local, Express and Commuter bus lines throughout Central and Southern Maryland. Basic fares are $1.60 one-way ($2 for Express one-way) or a $3.50 Day Pass for unlimited daily trips on MTA Local Buses, Light Rail and Metro Subway.

WATER
Water Taxi Service
Private water taxis and shuttles ferry you throughout the harbor areas of Baltimore and Annapolis. County governments and private companies also provide ferry service over many of Maryland’s major waterways to areas in and around the Chesapeake Bay.
Private Vessels
More than 700 commercial marinas are located on the Chesapeake Bay, ranging from small to large facilities with hundreds of transient slips and easy access to many of the area’s attractions.
