Star-Spangled 200: A National Bicentennial in Maryland to commemorate Maryland's unique contributions to the defense and heritage of the nation during the War of 1812, including the pivotal clash that ensured American victory, an iconic flag, and our national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner.

 

Drive along a network of Civil War Trails, explore the Historic National  Road, pause at places related to the birth of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” and get to the roots of a rich African-American heritage by following routes dedicated to the Underground Railroad. We proudly preserve our history for you to explore.
