Capital Region

We were thrilled that there was so much for us to do, so close to Washington, D.C."

Frederick, Montgomery and Prince George's counties

Just around the corner from our nation’s capital, you’ll have plenty of reasons to visit Maryland:

• Arts and Entertainment Districts
• Six Flags America
• historic sites
• Frederick Wine Trail (includes six wineries)
• world-class shopping
• NASA spaceflight facility
• two minor-league baseball teams

At our historic sites, for instance, you can walk where Civil War troops clashed in “The Battle that Saved Washington.” You can also see attractions that feature the author of our National Anthem, the founder of the American Red Cross and the first U.S.-born saint.

Bethesda and Silver Spring, both across the Washington, D.C. line in Montgomery County, have a seemingly unlimited number of restaurants and entertainment options. You can get to either of these locations on the Metro’s Red Line.

The town of Frederick, less than an hour from Washington, D.C. also has a vibrant downtown section -- 100 specialty shops and art galleries, 200 antique dealers, 30 restaurants and a host of historic locations. Nearby, is New Market, the “Antiques Capital of Maryland.”

National Harbor, on the banks of the Potomac River, has an assortment of entertainment venues and panoramic views of the Washington, D.C. monuments. And if you’re looking for outdoor fun, the Capital Region has ample opportunities for hiking, biking, boating and golf.
